The Moulin -- it is very rouge!

It is curious how fast time gets away from us. Life happens. I have a daily routine of checking out my favorite blogs and yet, I haven't updated since Nov 29th! Well, not that I am sure I have what you would consider a "following", but I so appreciate the feedback received and will continue to update on a regular basis.
I have been very busy over the  holidays making boxes and tags and photo-albums. I also have received some awesome hand-made gifts - a beautiful mosaic frame, which my lovely daughter Hale made, and an incredible side-table which my Dad recycled for me (those pics to follow).
My daughter volunteered my creative services to her theatre group, to paint the scene of the Moulin Rouge. Although it is a huge undertaking - I thought it would be great experience and a lot of fun. I was sent some pics by email and have been mulling it over in my head for over a month. I had a vision and needed to put it onto paper for approval before letting loose. I turned out better than I expected. I made copies - one which I added color and a black and white version, in case there was color changes or suggestions. After class on Saturday, the writer approached me and said that while they were impressed with  my work, they had some minor changes...okay...
The scene actually takes place INSIDE the cabaret. Oh.
They considered re-writing the scene, but it couldn't work. Ah.
They kindly provided me with a really rough sketch/idea and sent me on my way with a HUGE (really, really) canvas. Sigh.
I guess I have to laugh. I have purposely been avoiding reading the play - as I want to enjoy it when I see it (with exception of course of doing lines with Hale). Anyways, back to the drawing board...
I think this is also a lesson in patience, as I am putting so many projects which I want to delve into - on hold, until the moulin is complete.  It is very rouge though. {smiling}
